What You Will Do (Duties)
As a Cleaner in the South African Air Force, you will help maintain a clean, safe and orderly working environment. Your main responsibilities include:
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and dusting offices and facilities
- Cleaning windows, furniture and floors
- Polishing surfaces where required
- Cleaning ablution and bathroom facilities
- Using basic cleaning tools and equipment
- Reporting any workplace defects or maintenance needs to your supervisor
- Supporting additional cleaning tasks as directed
- Working independently and as part of a team
Requirements
These positions are entry-level and open to youth with limited qualifications.
Minimum:
- ABET qualification (Grade 1–9)
Skills & Attributes Needed:
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and hand tools
- Ability to operate simple cleaning machinery
- Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks
- Ability to work independently or in a team
- Good physical fitness for manual tasks
