About the Learnership
The Sasol Fire Fighter Learnership Programme is a structured initiative combining on-the-job training with classroom instruction. Participants will gain experience in fire prevention, emergency response, rescue operations, and fire suppression techniques.
This programme prepares learners to pursue careers as professional firefighters while building resilience, discipline, and teamwork skills essential for emergency services.
Key Responsibilities
As a learner, you will:
- Participate fully in the learnership programme and complete all assessments
- Engage in workplace readiness activities and practical exercises
- Demonstrate commitment, discipline, and willingness to learn
- Gain both technical knowledge and the personal attributes required for emergency response
Minimum Requirements
- Education: National Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent, with passes in:
- Technical Mathematics / Mathematics
- English / Business English
- Technical / Physical Science
- Driver’s Licence: Code B or higher
- Fitness & Assessments:
- Ability to pass a firefighter fitness test
- Ability to pass a stress and fear assessment, including exposure to heights, confined spaces, and fire
