Job Summary
Lancet Laboratories is seeking a detail-oriented and qualified candidate for the role of Admin Clerk – Data Capturer. The primary responsibility of this position is the accurate and timely capturing of patient and medical data to ensure high-quality outputs.
Minimum Requirements
- Education:
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification.
- Experience:
- 0–1 year of relevant working experience.
- Skills and Knowledge:
- Familiarity with organisational policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in computer usage and laboratory information systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Management:
- Capture patient information and medical aid details from doctor’s forms accurately and promptly.
- Register patient data onto computerized systems following SOPs to ensure correct reporting and billing.
- Validate registration forms to maintain accuracy and reliability of patient results.
- Specimen and Report Handling:
- Ensure the proper dispatch and tracking of specimens for processing.
- Perform hospital rounds to distribute reports and collect samples.
- Address and resolve administrative queries and bottlenecks in pre-analytical processes.
- Administrative Support:
- Manage stock levels and order supplies to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
- Assist with switchboard operations to maintain seamless communication.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, complaints, and resolutions using the laboratory information system.
- Customer Service:
- Manage reception areas, guide clients to relevant departments, and ensure excellent customer service.
- Handle cash payments from patients and ensure adherence to banking protocols.
- Represent the organization with professionalism and ethical conduct in all interactions.
- Equipment and Waste Management:
- Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment to ensure functionality.
- Adhere to proper waste disposal protocols in line with organisational policies.
- Training and Development:
- Participate in self-development initiatives and assist in training new staff.
