Job Summary

Lancet Laboratories is seeking a detail-oriented and qualified candidate for the role of Admin Clerk – Data Capturer. The primary responsibility of this position is the accurate and timely capturing of patient and medical data to ensure high-quality outputs.


Minimum Requirements

  • Education:
    • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification.
  • Experience:
    • 0–1 year of relevant working experience.
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with organisational policies and procedures.
    • Proficiency in computer usage and laboratory information systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Management:
    • Capture patient information and medical aid details from doctor’s forms accurately and promptly.
    • Register patient data onto computerized systems following SOPs to ensure correct reporting and billing.
    • Validate registration forms to maintain accuracy and reliability of patient results.
  • Specimen and Report Handling:
    • Ensure the proper dispatch and tracking of specimens for processing.
    • Perform hospital rounds to distribute reports and collect samples.
    • Address and resolve administrative queries and bottlenecks in pre-analytical processes.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Manage stock levels and order supplies to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
    • Assist with switchboard operations to maintain seamless communication.
    • Maintain accurate records of incidents, complaints, and resolutions using the laboratory information system.
  • Customer Service:
    • Manage reception areas, guide clients to relevant departments, and ensure excellent customer service.
    • Handle cash payments from patients and ensure adherence to banking protocols.
    • Represent the organization with professionalism and ethical conduct in all interactions.
  • Equipment and Waste Management:
    • Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment to ensure functionality.
    • Adhere to proper waste disposal protocols in line with organisational policies.
  • Training and Development:
    • Participate in self-development initiatives and assist in training new staff.
