Job Summary

An exciting opportunity is available for a qualified candidate to join Lancet Laboratories as an Admin Clerk / Receptionist. The role involves receiving, capturing, and distributing samples to ensure accurate record-keeping and timely processing in alignment with service objectives.


Minimum Requirements

  • Education:
    • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification.
    • BSc Degree (advantageous).
  • Experience:
    • 0–1 year of relevant working experience.
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Organisational policies and procedures.
    • Proficient in computer usage.
    • Familiarity with laboratory information systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sample Management:
    • Administer the sorting, registration, and dispatch of samples as per SOPs.
    • Monitor sample delivery and resolve bottlenecks in pre-analytical processes.
  • Customer Service:
    • Interact professionally with medical professionals and clients.
    • Address administrative queries, customer complaints, and report delivery issues.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Manage reception, provide relevant information, and direct clients appropriately.
    • Collect payments and ensure accurate cash handling.
  • Operational Support:
    • Maintain stock levels and order supplies as needed.
    • Perform hospital rounds to distribute reports and collect samples.
    • Ensure compliance with laboratory uniform protocols and housekeeping standards.
  • Reporting and Compliance:
    • Log incidents, customer complaints, and tasks in the laboratory management system.
    • Prepare and scan patient forms, ensuring completeness as per protocols.
