Job Description

We are currently seeking a Quality Control In-Service Trainee to join our Foods Division at Siqalo Foods, a subsidiary of RCL Foods. This role will be based in Boksburg and will report directly to the QA Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for adhering to procedures to ensure that products are tested and evaluated against the necessary standards and specifications, following FQA and UMA methodology.
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma (working towards) in Analytical Chemistry, Food Technology, or a B.Sc./B. Tech technical degree.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Understand and apply Quality Management Systems, policies, and procedures to verify the quality and safety of materials, work-in-progress, and finished products.
- Prepare finished goods samples for sensory evaluation.
- Implement aseptic sampling techniques.
- Conduct sampling and testing of packaging materials.
- Store blends and finished goods samples throughout their shelf life.
- Perform analytical testing of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods in accordance with ISO methods.
- Conduct line inspections, including physical checks on finished products.
- Assess and report on in-house CRQS (Quality Control Review System).
- Sample and test blends (PV, FFA, N-lines) and finished goods (Salt, pH, Moisture, D3.3, and E-sigma).
- Verify and calibrate laboratory equipment daily.
- Report and interpret analytical results.
- Monitor line cleaning (CIP) to ensure proper sanitation.
- Conduct positive release checks to ensure compliance after CIP and during line start-up.
- Record and file all laboratory analysis, sensory, and line inspection records.
- Raise Non-Conformance Actions (NCA) or Quality Exception Work Orders (QEWO) for any non-conforming products or processes.
- Adhere to laboratory safety standards and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Participate in product investigations and traceability assessments.
- Engage in continuous improvement programs, including internal audits, mock recalls, taste panel duties, project team involvement, and CI initiatives.
