Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- 1–2 years’ experience in burial, funeral services, or funeral planning.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Professional conduct.
- Ability to work with grieving families compassionately.
- Willingness to work weekends, public holidays, night shifts, and emergency call-outs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness for manual work.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will:
- Assist with transporting and handling deceased persons respectfully.
- Register and label bodies.
- Prepare and store bodies in mortuary facilities.
- Assist with body identification and autopsy preparation.
- Clean and sterilise mortuary facilities and equipment.
- Prepare bodies for collection and burial.
- Release bodies to families and provide updates.
- Prepare graves and funeral venues.
- Set up funeral equipment.
- Support burial and funeral services.
- Maintain cleanliness and follow health and safety procedures.
