About the Role

Clicks is looking for dedicated Shop Assistants / Cashiers who are passionate about delivering excellent customer service. The purpose of this role is to provide efficient service at the point of sale (POS), ensure smooth store operations, and contribute to a positive shopping experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Point of Sale (POS) Operations

Process all transactions accurately and efficiently.
Scan merchandise correctly and collect payment for purchases.
Handle cash safely and follow all cash-handling procedures.
Process and promote Clubcard rewards.

2. Customer Service

Act as a brand ambassador by offering friendly, professional, and helpful service.
Inform customers about promotions to boost sales and enhance their shopping experience.
Provide accurate product information and assist with customer queries.

3. Merchandising & Housekeeping

Ensure shelves are neatly stocked according to store and visual merchandising standards.
Maintain store cleanliness and create an inviting shopping environment.
Support store operations to meet Clicks’ vision of being the customer’s first-choice health and beauty retailer.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

Grade 12 / Matric

Desirable:

Minimum 50% in Maths and 50% in English at Grade 12 level
Experience in customer service or retail/FMCG environment (advantageous)

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

Basic maths and numeracy
Understanding of retail operations, merchandising, and stock management
Good communication and customer service skills
Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure
Problem-solving and organisational skills
Computer literacy
Ability to work well with people and handle customer interactions professionally
Strong customer orientation
Ability to persuade and influence sales
