About the Role
The Messenger role supports the smooth functioning of SAAF Headquarters by delivering documents, transporting items, and maintaining accurate vehicle and delivery records. This job is ideal for organised, responsible individuals who enjoy a hands-on role and can work flexible hours.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Transport
- Provide a reliable driving service for the base
- Ensure vehicles are kept secure, clean and roadworthy
- Perform basic vehicle checks and report faults
Messenger Duties
- Collect and deliver documents, parcels and official items
- Dispatch mail and ensure items reach the correct departments
- Assist with any messenger-related tasks assigned by supervisors
Administration
- Complete logbooks, delivery registers and other required records
- Maintain the vehicle distribution board accurately
- Follow all safety, security and record-keeping procedures
Additional Requirements
- Be willing to work irregular hours when required
Minimum Requirements
- ABET qualification (minimum schooling requirement)
- No experience needed
- Military driver’s licence – added advantage
