First National Bank (FNB) is inviting unemployed South African youth to apply for its 12-month Learnership Programme, available across all provinces. This initiative offers young people the chance to gain valuable work experience, professional exposure, and practical skills to help them become more employable in the future.

Stipend: R5,650 per month (fixed base pay)


About the Programme

The FNB Learnership Programme is part of the bank’s ongoing commitment to youth empowerment in South Africa. Over the course of 12 months, participants will receive structured training and on-the-job experience within various FNB business units, such as:

  • Marketing
  • Finance
  • Collections
  • FNB Cards
  • Private & Wealth Investments
  • Sales
  • Customer Service
  • Administration & Support
  • Catering

This opportunity is perfect for individuals who are driven, energetic, self-motivated, and eager to learn within a dynamic, professional environment.


Minimum Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be South African citizens aged 18–34 years
  • Have a Grade 12 (Matric) qualification (further studies such as certificates or diplomas at NQF 5–6 are advantageous)
  • Be unemployed for at least 6 months
  • Not currently studying full-time
  • Have little to no formal work experience (less than 12 months, including part-time or casual work)
  • Never participated in the FirstJob or FirstRand programmes before
  • Have a good command of English (spoken and written)
  • Have no criminal record and not be blacklisted
  • Be willing to complete a learnership and gain work experience simultaneously
