Main Purpose of the Job
To respond to emergency calls and provide intermediate medical care within the scope of practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain operational readiness for emergency calls.
- Deliver patient care in alignment with the scope of practice.
- Promote and sustain a positive public image for ER24.
Educational Requirements
- Essential: Ambulance Emergency Assistant Certificate or Higher Certificate in Emergency Medical Care.
- Desired: Completion of Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) training as prescribed by HPCSA. (Candidates not compliant with CPG at the time of application will need to complete this training during their probation period.)
Experience Requirements
- Essential: Minimum of 1 year EMS experience.
- Desired: 1 year of Intermediate Life Support (ILS) experience.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Best practice application.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with facilities, travel routes, and demographics of the area.
- Knowledge of HPCSA guidelines and scope of practice.
- Proficiency in completing Patient Report Forms.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal).
