About the Role:
Lancet Laboratories is seeking a Histology Dictaphone Typist to ensure the accurate transcription of anatomical pathology results as dictated by pathologists. This critical role supports the accurate and timely distribution of pathology reports, contributing to high standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately type anatomical pathology reports dictated by pathologists.
- Collate details from audio and visual sources into clear, well-presented reports.
- Type post-mortem results and maintain an effective filing system for documentation.
- Respond to doctor queries by referring them to relevant pathologists.
- Print and dispatch pathology reports to ensure timely delivery to respective doctors.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Required: Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 qualification.
- 0–1 years of relevant working experience.
Skills and Competencies:
- Knowledge of laboratory information systems, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Speed and accuracy in typing.
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Ability to work in a pressured environment and as part of a team.
- Self-management and excellent interpersonal skills.
Compensation:
Salary will be based on qualifications and experience.

- Compliance with Lancet’s vaccination policy, including full vaccination status and potential booster shots.
