About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has opened up at Randfontein Private Hospital for a qualified individual to join their team as an Admin Clerk / Receptionist. The role involves administering, capturing, and distributing samples while maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer sorting and distribution of samples according to SOPs.
  • Process sample registration and handle queries.
  • Dispatch specimens and monitor report delivery timelines.
  • Perform hospital rounds to collect samples and distribute reports.
  • Handle administrative queries and customer complaints.
  • Track courier deliveries of samples to ensure timely processing.
  • Investigate and resolve bottlenecks in pre-analytical processes.
  • Maintain a clean working area and prepare equipment.
  • Monitor stock levels and facilitate delivery to doctors’ rooms.
  • Represent the organisation professionally with clients and medical professionals.
  • Manage the reception area, direct clients, and offer excellent customer service.
  • Receive cash payments and handle banking in line with SOPs.
  • Scan patient forms and resolve scanning issues as per procedures.
  • Adhere to Lancet’s uniform protocols and ensure compliance with policies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 or relevant NQF Level 4 qualification (BSc Degree advantageous).
  • 0–1 year of relevant working experience.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with laboratory information systems.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and customer orientation.
  • Empathy, patience, and ability to handle nervous/distressed patients.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Business numeracy and telephone etiquette.

Compensation:
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Adherence to Lancet’s vaccination policy, including proof of full vaccination and willingness to receive boosters as required.
