Job DescriptionRCL FOODS is searching for a Process Leader to join our Specialty team based on Centurion. The purpose of this role is to supervise the performance of your production lines/department in a specific area of the Plant (including staff / process workers, machinery and material on that line/department) to achieve daily targets to required product specifications, while meeting safety, health and quality standards.
Minimum RequirementsMinimum of Grade 12 Minimum 2 years relevant experience preferably in a unionized food processing plant and FMCG Production. Preference will be given to those who have a national diploma in Production Management or are studying towards such. Expected to have good Inter-personal communication and leadership skills. Be willing to work shifts and flexible hours of work. Expected to be computer literate (basics) Sound decision making skills. Assertiveness and self confidence A result driven self-starter. Ability to work under pressure.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning Operations Management Safety, Health, Risk and Quality Compliance Cost control Administration and Reporting Team Supervision Cost management Number of rejects Product quality SHEQ compliance Adherence to equipment maintenance schedules Production numbers (volumes, line speed) Production equipment reliability (e.g. monitoring downtime) Production staff retention and staff absenteeism Production budget vs expenditure Labour costs Overtime Casual complement actuals vs budget Accuracy of reports Implementation of processes and procedures Adherence to equipment maintenance schedules Quality standards met Make operational decisions regarding the line/department within set boundaries / procedures, and in line with the daily production plan Immediately solve or initiate resolution of all operational and resource problems or issues within line/department within the ambit of responsibility Identify ways to minimize waste Implement quicker, faster ways of doing things Recommend cost saving initiatives Recommend innovations, particularly those that will improve plant productivity, actual production and product quality and/or lower costs.
