The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety is inviting applications for 204 Traffic Learner Officer Learnerships for 2026. About the Learnership

The programme combines classroom instruction with practical training at the Traffic College. Learners will receive intensive training in traffic law enforcement, road safety, public service, and physical fitness to prepare them for duties performed by Traffic Officers.

Successful participants will gain recognised occupational training that can improve their employment opportunities within traffic law enforcement and related public safety sectors.

Stipend

Successful learners will receive a stipend of:

R70,383 per annum

The stipend is intended to assist learners with their living expenses while completing the programme.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Have a Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) qualification recognised by SAQA.
  • Be between 18 and 35 years of age.
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence.
  • Have no criminal record.
  • Have no visible tattoos.
  • Be medically, mentally, and physically fit.
  • Be able to complete strenuous physical training.
  • Not have been declared unfit to possess a firearm under the Firearms Control Act.
