Position: Heavy Duty Truck Drivers (Constable)


Location: Visible Policing and Operations, External Deployment and Mobilisation Support, Pretoria
Annual Salary: R226,188 (Band A)

Basic Requirements:

  • Proven competency in core job functions.
  • Proficiency in at least two official languages (one must be English).
  • Possess a Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (Vocational) on NQF Level 4.
  • Valid driver’s license (at least code EB, C1, C, EC1, or EC) and a Public Driver’s Permit.
  • South African citizenship.
  • No criminal record or pending cases.
  • No visible tattoos in uniform.
  • Successful applicants will undergo security screening and fingerprint verification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and long hours.

Additional Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-4 years of driving experience.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management of the armoured and operational vehicle fleet.
  • Coordinate and support transport operations nationwide.
  • Prepare vehicles for transport, load, and offload equipment.
  • Conduct inspections and maintain the fleet, reporting any damage.
  • Assist in creating policies for fleet mobilisation.
  • Ensure adherence to National Instructions related to state and armoured vehicles.
  • Report on fleet activities and ensure compliance with security standards.
