| Job Description | We at RCL FOODS are in search for a Technical Assistant to join our Fleet Workshop within our Vector LogisticsBusiness Unit/Division. The role will be based in Peninsula and report to the Diesel Mechanic. |
| Minimum Requirements | MatricN3 or Gr 12 with mechanical qualifications3 years’ relevant experienceCode 14 Drivers Licence |
| Duties & Responsibilities | To perform assistance to the Diesel mechanic in performing preventative and ad-hoc maintenance on any of rigids, trucks and trailers fleet.Maintain workshop appearance through housekeeping.Assist with improvement/modifications on mechanical and auto electrical vehicles / equipment to improve equipment efficiencies.Conduct planned maintenance/inspections as per job card schedule and sign off.Once the job has been completed, send the job card to the Diesel Mechanic to approve the job done.Assist with mechanical and auto electrical breakdowns.When working night shift, some key responsibilities are the following: Oil and water checks on vehicles, auto electrical checks, in-cab temperature control checks, attend to after hour breakdowns, assess/report/repair any electrical/structural/mechanical repairs required on rigids/trucks/trailers as required. |
