The Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme is a national initiative that helps unemployed South African youth gain meaningful workplace experience. Participants receive practical on-the-job training that develops workplace skills and improves future employment prospects.
At The FIX, learners will gain exposure to the day-to-day operations of a busy fashion retail store while working alongside experienced retail professionals.
Job Purpose
As a YES Sales Associate, you will assist with daily store operations and provide excellent customer service. You will support the sales team by helping customers, maintaining attractive merchandise displays, replenishing stock, and ensuring the store remains clean and well organised.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be expected to:
- Welcome and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Deliver exceptional customer service.
- Help customers find suitable products and styles.
- Promote current fashion trends and in-store promotions.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system when required.
- Replenish shelves and maintain stock availability.
- Receive and unpack new stock deliveries.
- Ensure merchandise is displayed according to company standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and attractive sales floor.
- Follow stock loss prevention procedures.
- Work with colleagues to achieve daily and monthly sales targets.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be between 18 and 28 years old.
- Be unemployed.
- Have Grade 12 (Matric) (preferred).
- Be available for the full 12-month contract.
- Not have worked permanently for one employer for longer than one continuous year.
- Not be studying full-time between April 2026 and March 2027.
- Never have participated in the YES Programme before.
- Be able to arrange their own transport and accommodation where required.
