The South African Police Service (SAPS) is offering a trainee programme at the National Head Office for 2025. Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend of R4500 and gain hands-on training in law enforcement under the SAPS Act, 1995 (Act No 68 of 1995).

Minimum Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen (documentary proof required)
- Age between 18 and 35
- Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
- Medically and mentally fit (medical examination required)
- Psychological integrity assessment will be conducted
- Proficient in English and at least one other official language
- No visible tattoos in uniform
- No criminal record or pending cases
- Willing to take the oath of office and serve anywhere in South Africa
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid driver’s licence (light motor vehicle)
- Three-year tertiary qualification (NQF 6+) in Criminal Law, Policing, or Forensic Investigation
- Minimum university entrance (Bachelor’s, Diploma, or Higher Certificate)

Selection Process
All applicants will undergo:
- Fitness assessments
- Psychometric and medical evaluations
- Security vetting (including social media, fingerprinting, and background checks)
