LOCATION: SAPS Academy Philippi, Division: Human Resource Development, Western Cape
LEVEL OF REMUNERATION: R228 321 per annum

Generic Requirements:

  • Display competency in the post-specific core functions.
  • Be fluent in at least two of the official languages (one must be English).
  • Be a South African Citizen.
  • No previous criminal/departmental convictions or pending cases.
  • Subject to a vetting process, including security screening and fingerprint verification.

Additional Requirements:

  • Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (Vocational) on NQF level 4.
  • A certificate in food preparation and/or catering will serve as an advantage.
  • Ability to operate elementary machines and equipment.
  • Willingness to work extended hours when necessary.

Core Functions:

  • Administer general mess matters.
  • Manage mess purchases and control stock.
  • Set up the kitchen with appropriate cooking utensils and equipment.
  • Plan and prepare meals based on a healthy menu.
  • Ensure meals are well-cooked with appealing presentation.
  • Serve meals and provide waiter service.
  • Ensure hygiene and safety compliance in the kitchen environment.
