Purpose Statement

• To provide operational insight and input to the Client Experience Delivery strategy to underpin, enable and deliver the Retail strategy.
• To lead the delivery of Data and Analytics within Capitec Retail in support of Capitec’s strategic objectives, create business value, help manage enterprise-wide data quality risk, reduce cost, and drive innovation by harnessing and leveraging data as an asset
• To work with the Head of Data Services in the Shared Services business unit to maintain and grow the Data culture and capability across Capitec Retail and the whole group

Experience

Minimum:

• At least 7 – 10 years’ proven experience within a Data or IT Development Management role including experience in:
• A fast paced, complex environment
• Project and task planning and execution at a large scale within a complex and dynamic environment
• Resource capacity planning using a shared pool of resources within a similar environment
• Proven track record of delivering on complex projects
• Proof of concept experience
• Problem solving using analytics
• Proven track record of business relationship management at all levels, especially at a senior/executive level
• At least 2 years’ experience within a senior management role focusing on team development and client interaction

Ideal:

• 12 years’ experience working experience in a Data Management, Data Analytics or Data Science position within a fast-paced and complex business setting, of which 5 must have been spent in a senior leadership position
• Practical experience in applying Agile way of working methodologies

Qualifications (Minimum)

• Honours Degree in Commerce or Data Science
• Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational

Knowledge

Minimum:

• Functional knowledge of business areas in the portfolio 
• Systems Development Life Cycle
• Knowledge and understanding of Technology/Data Agile delivery methodologies
• People management practices
• Building and developing effective teams.
• Leadership, mentoring and coaching methods and practices.
• Reporting, budgeting, planning, networking practices
